Service dogs provide an invaluable service to our Veterans with Service Related disabilities, helping them live more independent and fulfilling lives.
However, training and caring for these amazing animals can be expensive. That's why we want to highlight the importance of donating to our Service Dog Transfer camps, which provide essential training and support to the handlers and their new companions.
Our Service Dog Transfer camps are designed to help handlers and their dogs make the transition from training to daily life. During these camps, handlers learn how to work with their dogs in real-world situations, such as going to the grocery store, navigating crowded areas, and traveling on public transportation. These camps also provide handlers with the opportunity to bond with their dogs and learn more about their individual needs and personalities.
While the benefits of these camps are immeasurable and required to receive one of our Service Dogs, the cost can be prohibitive for many handlers. At Mutts With A Mission we do NOT charge our Veterans for the 2 week Transfer Camp. The cost can be upwards of $5,000 per handler, which can be a significant financial burden for people already dealing with the challenges of living with a disability.
Your donation can help cover the cost of training materials, accommodations, outings, supplies, meals, and other expenses associated with running these camps.
